Marina Day

At the initiative of the Associació Catalana de Ports Esportius i Turístics (ACPET), the Day of the Sports Ports is held in early June. Due to the good reception of the initiative, since the 2018 edition, many ports throughout Spain (Catalonia, Balearic Islands, Valencia, Andalusia, Galicia, Asturias, Basque Country, etc.) have joined the initiative with the intention of bringing them closer to the public. Throughout the day a lot of nautical, cultural, gastronomic, leisure and other kind of activities are organised for all the family.

The Marina Day wants to break away from the standardised image that ports are closed and elitist places. They are not, as their facilities are open to everyone and there is no need whatsoever to own a boat to enjoy its wide range of activities. That’s why, the Club Nàutic Vilanova, has joined this initiative with free activities to promote the practice of sailing.

In the 2018 edition, the Marina Day moved to a state level to become one of the reference dates in the Spanish calendar. A day to get closer to the marinas and enjoy one of the jewels of our geography, the sea.
